New Janelle Brown’s Astonishing Weight Loss Journey: 100 Pounds Shed in Months!
Hannah Jiles, Janelle Brown and more reality TV personalities have been candid about losing weight since appearing on camera.
Hannah, for her part, frequently discussed body positivity during Love Is Blind season 7, which aired in October 2024.
“I’ve always struggled with my weight, my entire life. Whether I was skinny or whether I was heavier, I just had problems. I like to eat [and] I don’t like working out,” Hannah exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2024. “During COVID, I gained a lot of weight. I was just feeling sorry for myself and never did anything about it, essentially.”
Janelle, one of the ex-wives of Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown, has also been candid about her weight struggles and accompanying slim-down.
“You know, my physical appearance has always been my Achilles heel,” she said during a 2011 episode of Sister Wives. “I know I’m smart, I know I’m a good employee [and] I know I’m good at everything else, but my physical appearance … to have [my weight] so blatantly broadcast was very disturbing for me.”

Hannah Jiles
At her heaviest, Hannah weighed 220 pounds. After adjusting her diet and working out more, she dropped to 175 before going on Love Is Blind. (Season 7 of the Netflix experiment was filmed in October 2023, one year before it premiered on the streaming platform.)
“After the show, I was just like, ‘OK, I do love myself, but I do think I could be fitter and healthier. I can be better and feel better,’” Hannah told Us in 2024. “I realized a lot of things. I got on anxiety medication, which I think really helped me. I don’t have as much anxiety, so I’m not anxiously eating.”
Hannah, who noted she tried Ozempic for two weeks but it made her feel sick, currently weighs 145 pounds which she manages with “portion control” and various exercises.
“I’ve done crash diets in the past. They don’t work for me. If I just eat what I normally eat [but] just eat a smaller portion, I’m OK. I try to eat protein,” she said. “I don’t like cooking meat at home, it grosses me out, so I eat a lot of fish at home. It’s easier. I try to eat proteins and some greens. Thankfully, I’m not a picky eater. But then if I want french fries for dinner, then I’ll have french fries for dinner. I just balance it out.”
Janelle Brown
During a 2011 episode of Sister Wives, a fitness trainer weighed Jenelle and revealed that she weighed 271 pounds. The TLC started managing her diet and fitness regimen better by 2013.
“It’s very simple. I am taking care of me,” Janelle wrote via Instagram in September 2021. “I have found amazing plant-based supplements that have rocked my world. I don’t have the sugar cravings, brain fog, low energy, poor sleep, or inflammation like I used to. … This isn’t an overnight fad nor a diet pill. This is a lifestyle and let me tell you, it feels amazing!”
Angela Deem
Angela underwent gastric sleeve reduction, liposuction on her back and a breast reduction in August 2020 while she was still married to 90 Day Fiancé spouse Michael Ilesanmi. Angela lost more than 80 pounds.
“I’ve always wanted to enhance my look for Michael because of his age, but this journey — people need to know — I felt like I would have died without the weight-loss surgery,” Angela, who is 23 years older than Michael, told Us in March 2021.
“It’s a journey — not only physically, but an emotional journey because you come out of surgery and you just think everything’s going to change, but actually you can’t eat for a couple months.”
